Veterans

Georgia Department of Veteran Service (GDVS) serves U.S. veterans living in Georgia. They may help veterans who sustained disabling injuries in service gain access to handicap vans.

Spinal Cord Injury

Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the health and well-being of people living with spinal cord injury, mobility impairment, and paralysis by providing comprehensive information, resources and referral services.

National Spinal Cord Injury Association is a national organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life of all people living with spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D).

Georgia Brain and Spinal Injury Trust Fund Commission enhances the lives of Georgians with traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries. Guided by the aspirations of people with traumatic injuries, the Commission supports lives of meaning, independence and inclusion. As the state's Lead Agency on Traumatic Injuries, we: administer the Central Registry to identify those who are injured, distribute resources through the Trust Fund, and advocate for improvements in statewide services.

Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC) is a statewide and national provider of home health care equipment-mobility aids and daily living devices for people with disabilities and the newly injured at little or no cost to the recipients.

Tools For Life Georgia's Assistive Technology Act Program, is dedicated to increasing access to and acquisition of assistive technology (AT) devices and services for Georgians of all ages and disabilities so they can live, learn, work and play independently and with greater freedom in communities of their choice.

The Center for financial Independence and Innovation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities and their family members advance their financial independence and security. They offer product and services such as Credit-Able, Georgia's alternative financing program for assistive technology; Financial Education Workshops; and Down Payment Assistance Grants.

Work Incentives And Benefits

Ticket to Work is a voluntary employment program for people with disabilities administered by the Social Security Administration (SSA).

Georgia Client Assistance Program The Georgia CAP assists Georgia residents with disabilities who seek vocational rehabilitation services under the Rehabilitation Act.

Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation helps individuals with disabilities gain and maintain employment. This includes assistive technology assessments and recommendations.

Georgia's Aging and Disability Resource Connection serves aging individuals and people with disabilities of all ages. They seek to provide support, information, and service. Find a local office here.

disABILITY LINK is dedicated to the independent living of individuals with disabilities. Their Voucher Transportation Assistance Program (VTAP) helps individuals afford transportation.

Southeast Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Center provides education to the public on the Americans with Disabilities act of 1990. It also offers technical training and assistance. This is one of 10 ADA centers in the U.S. and serves Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
